It was around 3am, and we were getting damn tired, but we decided to set up and take the shot anyway. In retrospect, I'm glad we did. The spiral star trails were achieved by framing the North Star in the top of the shot and exposing the photo for ten minutes as the rest of the stars appear to rotate around it. Lighting on the post was done with a small flashlight in order to keep the grass and weeds below in shadow against the sky. One of the few B&W I did.

Finally getting around to posting the night shots from the other weekends roadtrip. Or at least the ones I liked. They were a bit of a pain, yes, but it was nice to use the techniques Id been practicing on some better shots.

Unknown Building

Same shot, different lighting.

We found this building early on in the night and the moon was fairly low, with a haze causing rings around it. I love this one because of those rings sooo much. No need for photoshop or darkroom tricks.

Abandoned Drive In Theatre

This one took several efforts to light well, which is why im including it. It's not my favorite but I was just glad to have made it come out. Its another shot in the projectionists booth and the walls, as you can see, are painted flat black.

On The Road

Landside..

Simply a bridge to nowhere, didn't cross to find out where it led.

This was a abandoned garage, you can see a tire rack that fell down in the back. Plus the mass amount of droppings on the ground from the pigeons now living there. We quickly learned to watch our step.

It looked like those living here up and left pretty quick....or from the state this cabin was in I really hope they left cuuuuz I don't wanna meet the person that would live in it.

And by everyone I mean Britt and Tea if she ever checks this thing.

Spent the morning in DC, froze myself, came home for lunch. Not too much of an eventful day.
Im boring.
Eoin came over, also uneventful unless you count me chasing Rufus out of my studio. Damn dog!
Though Eoin did get me a nice cd player for my car so I suppose I can forgive his dogs breaking and entering issue.
Tyler asked me out, some new years party. I think Im going to have to turn the boy down again...but he look so pitiful when I do!! Maybe Ill get him a cell phone as a late christmas present...and then I dont actually have to see his reaction when I tell him no. Or maybe thats too much work for one rejection.
